Frequently Asked Questions

Starting September 1, 2024, attendants supporting a client in the consumer direction program will be limited to working 16 hours per day. This was a recent legislative change during the last meeting of the General Assembly.

  • Respite, attendant, and companion care service hours.
  • Any attendant regardless of their live-in status.
  • Any attendant regardless of their relationship to the participant or employer.

You can hire another attendant to cover the other eight hours.

Yes. Respite, attendant, and companion care service hours.

No. The 16 hours applies to the entire day, for both service codes. If needed, you can hire another attendant to provide services for the remaining eight hours.

The system will automatically trim your time down to the 16-hour limit.
