Service Facilitator Newsletter

Welcome to the April Service Facilitator Newsletter. Here are the latest updates from Consumer Direct Care Network Virginia (CDVA). The next newsletter will be sent in July 2023.

Enrollment Packets
Effective March 6, 2023, Service Facilitators are being added to email requests for packet corrections. CDVA believes this will aid Service Facilitators in noticing common errors that are made on enrollment packets so they can provide timely updates regarding packet statuses.

Wisely Cards
Attendants with a Wisely Card can switch their method of payment if desired by submitting a Pay Selection Form. If CDVA does not have bank information that can be verified and processed, the attendant will experience a delay in payment.

DMAS CD Quarterly Update
Active EORs and Attendants received an email on April 5, 2023 advising of the Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) Consumer Directed (CD) Quarterly Update. The email detailed specific agenda topics to better support roles in the program.

Employer of Record 101 One Pager
The Employer of Record (EOR) 101 one pager is now available under the Training Materials section of the CDVA website. This document provides an understanding of the EOR’s role and responsibilities.

DirectMyCare Web Portal
DirectMyCare.com is CDVA’s secure website for Clients, Attendants, EORs, and Service Facilitators.

  • Clients and EORs should register for DirectMyCare.com once the “Welcome Letter” is sent.
  • Attendants can register for DirectMyCare.com once the “Enrollment Confirmation letter” is sent.

Registering for DirectMyCare.com too soon and before CDVA processes paperwork may cause a delay with registration.

Sick Leave
To be eligible for sick leave, an Attendant must:

  1. Work an average of 20 hours per week or 90 hours per month.
  2. Have all time worked approved by the EOR no more than 20 days after the end of the quarter.

If the Attendant meets these criteria, they will earn one hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked. Sick leave must be entered using DirectMyCare.com. Any Attendant with unused sick leave at the end of the fiscal year may carry over up to 40 hours into the next fiscal year. Sick leave can be used in 15-minute increments. Attendants may continue to use these hours during the eligibility process.
